Residents in Abyelut parish in Usuk Sub County in Katakwi district have been urged to desist from the act of travelling for long distances in the name of celebrating Christmas.
James Okure, the councilor of Abyelut parish in Usuk Sub County in Katakwi says that a majority of people have a tendency to celebrate festive seasons outside their homes, something he says gives thieves room to steal their properties.
Okure adds that thieves are targeting things like goats, cattle, and sheep among others which will bring no development in the family.
He now calls upon the public to be vigilant and report any suspected cases of theft to relevant authorities like police, LC1 for redress.
