Mothers in soroti district have been tasked to conduct regular malaria testing whenever they take their children for treatment in the health facility.
Emmanuel Ekodeu, the malaria focal person in soroti district says that the aim is to eliminate malaria infection in the community and early management in both the mother and the child.
Ekodeu further explains that as a department of health in the district, they recommend most of the malaria cases to be handled at community level with the help of the VHTs.
He now calls on unity between various VHTs across the district to play their roles and sensitize communities on the proper usage of mosquito nets.
