Health workers struggle to operate in a small maternity ward in Tiriri Health Centre IV in Soroti district

Health workers in Tiriri health center IV in Katine Sub County in Soroti district are struggling to operate in a small maternity ward.

Dr. Gerald Oloit the in charge Tiriri health center IV says that the facility has an inadequate space in the maternity ward which has forced patients to lay down especially women who go through normal delivery in order to create space for patients who through operation something he says is risky health wise.

Oloit notes that as a facility they receive patients between 50-100 every month both on normal delivery and on operation which has affected the hospital in terms of patient management.

He now calls on the government to consider Tiriri health center IV for expansion since the hospital serves some of the nearby districts like Amuria, Kalaki among others.
