Residents of Akadot parish, Pallisa Sub County in Pallisa district were yesterday in the evening left in a sorrow state after the heavy downpour accompanied by hailstones massively destroyed their crops in the gardens.
A total of over 50 gardens were affected and among the crops which were destroyed include rice, cassava, banana plantations and among others whereas domestic animals such as birds, goats and sheep also died as a result.
John Ekoriei, one of the affected persons and a resident of Agurur village in Akadot parish notes that the incident left the majority of the affected people in shock.
However, Issa Omulur the Akadot parish councilor has therefore called upon the government to extend her helping hand to the affected families.
