Four Hospitalized after Road Accident in Katakwi

More than Four people of Katakwi district are battling for their lives and are nursing injuries at Katakwi General Hospital after being involved in an accident over the weekend along Soroti -Katakwi road between Komolo and Getom during a rally.

Three people identified as Charles Ibwalingat, Augustine Okwi, Martine Obwolong, all Boda-Boda riders and residents of Omodo, Okokoma parish in Akoboi sub County while Stella Apuno, a resident of Kaimoru village Getom is nursing  internal chest pain  at Omodo Clinic after been hit in confusion at Katakwi Boma grounds.

The casualties were rushed to Katakwi Hospital on Saturday by Red Cross society where they are still attending treatment with various complaints and have remained there because the condition isn’t better. 

The survivors of accidents are bitter that they were called for a rally but after getting in an accident ,Jorem Obukui, chairman organizing committee of the function when contacted left them unattended too and did not show up for any help to date a thing that left them pulling their money for treatment.
Emmanuel Otoke parish councilor for Okokoma and Ben Kiwanuka LC1 kaimoru village among other people blame the LC3 Akoboi for dodging to attend to the injured.

The Boda-Boda were participating in rally to welcome the Speaker of parliament Annet Anita Among and state minister for education and sports Hon Peter Ogwang who converged at Katakwi for the fund raising function for village savings groups of Katakwi over the weekend got involved in accident over excitement as some lost control . 

Our effort to get a comment from the chairman organizing committee when contacted by press time was futile since his phone was not available.
