A number of schools in Katakwi district have reopened with low turn up across the district.
But several schools visited by our reporter had no learners by 9:00 am. At Akoboi, Alukucok, Getom and Apeleun primary schools over 150 pupils in each school were observed to have shown up.
The same situation was observed at Abwanget Primary School where few pupils turned up for learning.
But none the less the first day of reopening is always observed in that order but the Katakwi leaders have collectively asked the learners to go back school in the first week
However, Andrew Joseph Koluo, the MP for Toroma County has called on parents to help mobilize learners about school reopening and provide scholastic materials.
Geoffrey Omolo the district LCV say they have resolved to monitor how learners have reopened because they are shifting meetings to sub counties in order to identify the gaps of education.
