Palisa district environment officer vows to arrest wetland encroachers

The Pallisa district environment officer Abraham Omasai has vowed to arrest encroachers into the wetlands beyond the demarcated areas

According to Omasai farmers especially rice growers in Pallisa district have up to below 30meters from the demarcated point to cultivate adding that anyone found culpable will be dealt with by the law

Omasai, sounded this warning during the currently continuing demarcation exercise of wetlands across the entire district. Clement Keneth Obote Ongalo the state minister of Teso affairs has also urged rice growers in Pallisa and Teso at large to pave way for government’s decision on wetland demarcation.
