More than 500 locals in Soroti city have attained hands on skill training and received money making equipment, a move that in aiming at poverty eradication.
The woman Member of Parliament for Soroti Joan Alobo donating several money making equipment to the hands on skills groups in the area saying the motive of the initiative was to strengthen the poorest communities through income generation activities with women being on the lead.
This comes at a time when disgruntled communities were in waiting for the anticipated government programs such the parish development model (PDM) and Emyooga which have stayed in suspense unsettled. However the MP Alobo has adviced the local population to employ creativity though income generation activities under groups alongside government aided projects for a sustainable livelihood.
